Core packages for analysis: IPython, NumPy, and SciPy

Workshop goals:

- Learn the key features of IPython for interactive analysis
- NumPy arrays

  - Define arrays and perform common manipulations
  - Basic array slicing
  - Documentation and tutorials for further work

- Develop a script that extracts a 1-d spectrum from a 2-d longslit image
- Gain familiarity with tools available within the SciPy package
